Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – Report

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to begin mass layoffs the week of 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 US jobs as part of a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs are a result of the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August valued at $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are likely, with Paramount Skydance intending to reveal full details during its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.

Earlier reports had indicated the firm aimed to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, Paramount retained almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 contract workers.

The organization has not provided a response to a request for comment.
