Helicopter Twirls Wildly into Palm Fronds at Well-Known California Beach
A chopper flying near a popular California coastline suddenly started spinning out of control, ultimately descending rapidly and smashing into a cluster of palm groves as beachgoers observed.
Videos posted on social media show the chopper beginning to twirl over the beach then descending in the direction of the edge of the coast, where it ends up lodged amidst palm trees and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
First Aid Update
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five individuals were transported to a medical facility involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.
Three people on the pavement were injured. Details on their condition were still under review.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
Planned Function
Authorities indicated the chopper was connected to an yearly “Cars with Copters” charity gathering planned for the following day.
