Discover 29 Fresh Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Expansion (Featuring a Commander Precon Deck!)

The world's favorite pizza-loving heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known trading card game's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special panel hosted at NYCC. Could this be a exciting new set or yet another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you decide.

Take a look below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including some useful background. All items listed here launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before we get into all the various unique products and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the expansion are set at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a couple of surprising features. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where gamers can play powerful creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells too. The designers also used this chance to refine the ability a bit (Sneak is treated as playing a spell, unlike the older mechanic). The original ability isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter the new mechanic in upcoming expansions moving forward.

Should we were to return to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability since that plane is it originated and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced designer explained. “But in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is among four special cards with unique artwork created exclusively for the expansion by TMNT original artist Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play game cards outside of your deck, many players were. Yet as per Wizards, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.

In any case, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from the TMNT set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, all these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they took care to make sure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions like Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for over a year and we knew it would be Standard-legal and what other sets would be alongside it in standard,” the designer commented. “We designed to ensure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to offer the components for a fun Standard-legal deck,” he says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power

After declining to design any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it includes six different legendary creatures who could work as your commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone instead of only one). Take a look for yourself:

The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise based on demand. Sources told that it includes 43 brand-new cards in total, which means an additional thirty-seven TMNT-themed cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, that also means approximately 20 reprints if we estimate the deck includes 37 land cards.)

How will the TMNT version of the iconic Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Standard Edition)

Typically, the company is offering a collection. This one costs $69.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Non-foil land cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Foil promotional card
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • 25 Regular pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • One storage box

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring brand-new TMNT art. The team revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding black licorice pieces on a pizza slice. There are six distinct pizza promos available.

This special bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is made for a four-player draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (the perfect amount four people to draft)
  • One Collector Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
  • Ninety Non-foil land cards (for building your draft deck)
  • Ten Non-foil token cards
  • 1 Draft insert (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic game products specifically for new players. In this case, the cooperative set is a unique product of prebuilt decks that allow two players join forces to face a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.

The general idea here that each Boss card gives unique powers to the creatures included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card per turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
